The Elder Football season is already off to a fantastic start. We’re going into week three with a strong 2-0 record, including victories over the Centerville Elks and the Upper Arlington Golden Bears. The biggest playmakers at this moment are senior quarterback Josh Moore, senior wide receiver Max Mazza, and running backs Jimmy White and Chris Schroer. I met up with Josh Moore over the weekend to chat about his team and what it feels like to be Elder’s quarterback. Alex – “Josh, how do you feel about the season so far?” Josh – “I think we’re doing great. After the huge victory against Upper Arlington, we were all super excited and I feel the rest of the season will have a good outcome.” Alex – “What did you have to do in the offseason and when you were a child to prepare to become Elder’s quarterback?” Josh – “Hard work mostly. All throughout grade school it was my dream to be Elder’s quarterback so that’s what I worked for. When I got to high school, I just continued to push myself in all situations.” Alex – “What else was motivating you to push yourself?” Josh – “The thought of being under the lights on a Friday night made me push myself. My dad also pushed me to work for what I wanted. I plan on just doing the same things I have been doing to help my team succeed. ” Alex – “Anything else you would like to say?” Josh – “Make sure the cheering sections are always crazy.” The Panthers have been preparing all week to play the Louisville Trinity Shamrocks this Friday. The Rocks have won the last 3 consecutive Kentucky state titles; however, nothing can discourage the Elder Panthers.
