Mr. Gary Rogers has been advising the staff of The Purple Quill since he joined the Elder faculty in the winter of 2011. In the summer of 2012, he attended a Journalism "bootcamp" at the Reynolds Institute in Reno, Nevada. While there, he enhanced the graphic design and multi-media skills he utilized during 27+ years in private industry. Most recently, he was awarded a Communications Fellowship from Ohio University and is using the expertise gained during the experience to enhance his students' interactions with their community with an ongoing project - The Heart of Price Hill. He lives in Western Hills with his wife in their now empty nest. Recently. Mr. Rogers became a grandpa and is an avid golfer and Elder varsity "B" coach. He is active in Cincinnati community theatre as an actor, director and designer. In his "spare time", he referees youth basketball, soccer and women's lacrosse. In the spring of 2014, he added yet another title to his resume, that of caddie master at Western Hills Country Club. (cue: Caddyshack theme; fade in on gopher)
