Kaepernick deserves a second chance
Colin Kaepernick deserves another shot in the NFL
Colin Kaepernick is a former NFL quarterback for the San Francisco Forty-Niners.
He stands at a whopping 6’-4”, and weighs 230 pounds. In his past career he put up great numbers, and was one of the best quarterbacks in the league during his prime when he led the Niners to a Superbowl in 2013.
I just want to get one thing straight before I give my opinion on this topic. Sure, many people hate him for obvious reasons when it comes to the National Anthem, and I have my own opinion on that as well which is probably similar to most of yours, but I will not be talking about that at all during this, and it has no affect on it.
Now the question most of you are asking is, “Why should he deserve a second chance?” I know the majority sees him as a nobody now, and a bust if he were to be given a second chance, but I promise you that’s not the case at all.
In the current league today, every team that has a running quarterback is successful. Yes, there are Aaron Rogers and Tom Brady, but those are the only good system QB’s in the league right now. For example, running quarterbacks include Lamar Jackson with the Ravens, Cam Newton with the Panthers, and Russell Wilson with the Seahawks.
Colin Kaepernick is a great running quarterback, and a tank to bring down. And he has the strongest arm out of all of those guys I just named. I honestly believe with all the work he has been putting in lately that if a team were to pick him up, they would win the Super Bowl within five years, and he would be that team’s dynasty quarterback for the next ten years.
He has all the tools, and he has only gotten better from when he was once a Superbowl champion in the league. He has done several workouts in front of NFL teams such as the Titans, Redskins, and Chiefs, and 22 others. They all liked what they saw, and here are some quotes from some pretty important people that attended the workout.
First off, I just want to say why I named those three teams out of all 24. Those ones caught my eye, and Kaepernick’s because they all currently have RUNNING QUARTERBACKS. The Chiefs have Pat Mahomes, the Titans have Marcus Mariota. I think if he gets another chance it will be one of those two teams.
Now, back to the workout. Jordan Dajani, CBS sports writer attended the workout. He said, “The NFL scouts were definitely impressed with Kaepernick’s arm strength, and his mobility from what they expected it to be.”
Another reporter there, Jason La Canfora said, “Colin Kaepernick got some very positive feedback from the scouts in attendance about his elite arm strength and ability to throw the deep ball.”
In the end, Kaepernick has been working his butt off and deserves another chance. He would make a great franchise QB in today’s game.
