As many people know by now, Disney recently dropped a new little streaming service called “Disney+”. This subscription video on demand streaming service allows people to watch any show or movie that Disney as ever owned or created and was made available to the public on November 12, 2019. Along with this streaming service are all of the movies and shows in the Star Wars franchise. This is a result of Disney buying Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion back on October 30, 2012.

When these were all made available, Disney also dropped a new series called The Mandalorian which centers around a bounty hunter who sets out on his own individual mission to discover what it truly means to be a Mandalorian. A Mandalorian is a warrior from the Star Wars franchise that live lives of bounty hunting and honor. They are highly skilled in combat and live by their own code of honor. Many people believe this character to be Boba Fett from the original Star Wars series, but it is not. The events of this show take place after Star Wars episode 6 Return of the Jedi where Boba Fett gets eaten alive, but later escapes his death to go continue his work.

This is an entire separate character that is on his own mission to protect a character known as Baby Yoda who is very valuable to the fallen Empire due to his connection to the force. Bounty hunting is a side job and the Mandalorian primarily focuses on keeping Baby Yoda safe after the little guy saves his life on a mission. The Mandalorian is now in charge of keeping the creature safe while every bounty hunter in the universe tries to come to kill him.

The Mandalorian with his little companion Baby Yodaim and take the baby to receive the biggest prize in the galaxy and become a legend. The Mandalorian is challenged to stay under the radar and keep his circle small. He also learns about how to love and support a child which is something that Mandalorians are never taught and trained to do.

The show releases an episode about every week, and the series is now five episodes in. This article will not spoil any of the plot because I feel like the story is very special, and I highly encourage watching it. Most of my friends who are huge Star Wars fans had some comments that they wanted to make about the shows progress. Fellow Quill staffers Thomas Peters and Nicholas Seger had some comments to weigh in. “I really like the direction that the show is going. The plot is so unexpected, and I really love how bada*s the character is. It is a great way to keep the Star Wars community active while we wait for more movies.” Seger loves the unique story and can’t wait for more episodes to be released over time. Peters also had some words about the show. “I am so glad that this was released because we get a good amount of information about the mysterious Mandalorian cult, and the events that took place between the old Star Wars episodes and the very modern ones.” Peters also said he thinks it is perfect to keep busy with until the final episode in the new Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Overall this show is truly amazing and I highly encourage watching it when you get the chance. It has a great story that anybody would enjoy even if you are not a huge Star Wars fan. Being able to watch this show with a Disney+ subscription also means that you have access to all Disney movies as well. Yes, this even includes all of the Marvel movies.
