Who is Moon Knight?
Nominated actor Oscar Isaac is cloaking up for the rule of super hero Moon Knight
As most know, the original Marvel chapter has ended.
It ended with quite the bang from Avengers: Endgame, and we witnessed the heroes of our childhood take down the seemingly invincible Thanos. As great as this epic ending to a magnificent series of movies was, it left many questions up in the air.
What happens now? Where are our beloved heroes headed?
Well, you can rest assured because more and more information has been coming out. We already witnessed heroes such as Spider-Man after the finale with their own movies and adventures. Now, we have a new hero in the universe, Moon Knight, and he will be played by none other than Oscar Isaac.
I am sure most of you know who Oscar Isaac is because he is quite the actor starring in many great films. But, if you do not know, he stars as Po in the new Star Wars saga, and he also stars in critically acclaimed films such as Inside Llewyn Davis. Just this past week, Marvel managed to cast Oscar Isaac to take on the role of Moon Knight, a new hero that will take place in Marvel roles coming up.
When I heard about this news, I was very surprised, not only because of Oscar Isaac being casted though. I also had no idea who Moon Knight was and where he came from in this universe. Moon Knight is an avenger clad in a white cloak that fights against crime in New York City. Like all superheroes, Moon Knight has his many advantages and disadvantages. His name is Marc Spector, and he was a former Marine, boxer, and CIA agent so he has great skill in combat and guns. However, he suffers from multiple personalities disorder which affects his team and fight against crime a great deal.
Deadline, one of the first to hear the news, confirmed that Oscar Isaac ” is in negotiations to star as the title character in Moon Knight, the Marvel and Disney+ series based on the comic book hero.” Marvel has been switching to less movies and more mini series. The Moon Knight series will add on to upcoming Marvel series such as WandaVision, Loki, and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. All of these series are a part of Marvel’s Phase 4, which includes more movies and series too.
Although it is quite a surprise to see these acclaimed actors taking roles as superheroes from comic books, I think that it is great for this area of cinema. It makes the movies, storylines, and character development much better, and it paves the way for great series. Marvel for sure took a step in the right direction with this casting.
