Anchorman 2’s Ron Burgundy comes out of the big screen
In past years we’ve seen actors, actresses, directors and even producers market their movies in all sorts of ways. They have utilized action figures, dolls, posters, press conferences and even talking to the press about their movie as actors and actresses. But never before have we seen a real live character come out of a motion picture to market their movie such as Anchorman 2’s Ron Burgundy.
Will Ferrell’s Anchorman 2 has been hyped by San Diego’s favorite anchorman from KVWN channel 4, Ron Burgundy. We’ve seen Ron just about everywhere.
I mean where has he not been?
Despite the fact that he’s been going to the same party for ten years, that hasn’t stopped Ron from venturing out and doing new things such as staring in car and phone commercials, writing books, and co-anchoring a newscast on Bismarck North Dakota’s CBS affiliate KXMB-TV. He even hosted special events such as the Canadian Olympic Curling trials, from Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Ron’s so popular he was given his own gaming app on big name phone brands such as Apple and Android called The Anchorman 2: Scotchy Scotch Toss in honor of his favorite adult beverage, Scotch. An App wasn’t the only thing Burgundy has been given. He was also given a special present from Emerson College naming their school of communication the “Ron Burgundy School of Communication” for a day.
Since Ron has shared stories with the San Diego area, he’d thought he’d share a collaboration of his own stories from his days at Our Lady Queen of Chewbacca High School to the dizzying heights of becoming America’s top news anchor. His new book is entitled Let me off at the top! My Classy life and other musings.
Through non- stop marketing, Anchorman 2 has earned over 100 million dollars and is still going strong. This unique Hollywood experiment has provided huge hype and interest for the film. This marketing strategy is opening new doors in Hollywood. This genius marketing strategy will examined when tracking the outstanding financial record of this film.
