The Buckeyes are poised to have another fantastic season. Last season they ended with two straight loses to Michigan and Georgia. Ohio State is returning 13 starters from last year’s team. Ohio State will have 20 new players on this years roster.
The Buckeyes have returned arguably the best player in college football, Marvin Harrison, Jr. In 2022, Marvin and former Ohio State QB C.J. Stroud had a astounding connection. In 2022, Harrison, Jr. had 77 receptions for 1,263 yards and 14 touchdowns. Stroud was drafted 2nd overall in the 2023 NFL draft.
The Buckeyes are replacing Stroud with either sophomore Devin Brown or junior Kyle McCord. Kyle McCord played high school ball with Harrison, Jr. at St. Joseph Preparatory School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. McCord came in late during eight Buckeye games last season. McCord completed 16 out of 20 attempts for 190 yards and a touchdown.
Brown was a phenomenal player in high school. As a senior, he passed for 4,881 yards with 57 touchdown passes, while also rushing for 430 yards and eight touchdowns. Ohio State still hasn’t announced who is the starter for week one versus Indiana. Ohio State has gotten the job done recently versus the Hoosiers. They have won 27 straight games.
The Buckeyes this summer have released new uniforms. They feature steel-gray jersey and pants. Ohio State will only use the uniforms once this season and it will be against the Michigan State Spartans. The game will be under the lights at 7:30 in the historic Ohio Stadium. The Buckeyes have recently lost two straight games versus the Michigan Wolverines.
Many people in Columbus, Ohio believe Ryan Day is on the hot seat when the Buckeyes take on the Wolverines on November 25th. The Buckeyes have a lot to prove this season after ending last season with two straight losses.
