Surrounded by the Germans with no form of escaping and no ammo to fight for their life with, sat five brave Americans and a tank named Fury.
I recently watched the 2014 film Fury and it made made me think back to the other war movie lone survivors at many different points. All of the blood, lost limbs, and crying family member really made feel and realize what people had to go through back then for our country whether they wanted to or not.
The movie is centered about the times in World War II and mainly about a group that fought in a tank all of the war. They should have roughly people treated each other during these times even though a lot of the soldiers were just kids that got ripped from their family to come fight in the war. The ending of the movie was truly one of the best endings of a movie I have ever seen. The Americans tank ran over a bomb which caused the tank to become useless with over 100’s of German soldiers coming straight for the five of them. Instead of running away, they decided as group that they were going to fight to the death and that’s exactly what they ended up doing as all them died except for one. He was able to be rescued due to his friends defending off the Germans for so long.
The actors in this film are people that everyone is familiar with such as Brad Pitt being the main character. He did a great job being the main hard ass on his crew that didn’t fear death while beginning in the war. Throughout the movie you can see that he does have feelings and is also scared but has to be strong man so everyone else can be brave. At the end he throws himself on a grenade saving the life of one of his friends showing that he really did care for them and love his country.
Next was Logan Lerman and he played the role as a young man that was living the normal life until being drafted into the war where he was scared to death. But later he turned into a warrior who was able to do anything. Finally Jon Bernthal, Micheal Pena, and Shia LaBeouf who are from shows that you are probably familiar with and amazing actors. I felt the actors they chose for this film were perfect fits and were able to play their roles very well.
The movie had affects truly made you feel like your were looking at real footage from the war. Their were bodies all over the place, it looked very uncomfortable, people had looks on their faces like they have been threw the ringer, to go along with all the explosions, and the not mention the final gun fight that lasted at least 25 mins was done very well. Something that was different that I liked was when they would shoot, the bullets looked like lasers so you could see where the bullets were going.
As the Germans took out the whole crew the only Americans that remained were Brad Pitt and Logan Lerman. They were left with no option and no weapons to fight with. The Germans climbed up into the tank as Brad told Logan to crawl into the escape vent below. The Germans dropped a grenade into the tank as Brad covered his body over it and Logan left. Logan covered himself in dirt and tried not to make a sound as a young German soldier peeks under and makes eye contact with him.
