Fight Club is a popular movie, especially among teenagers. Being a teen, I heard people talking a lot about the movie, specifically a few of my friends. They convinced me to watch the movie, and I loved it.

The movie stars Edward Norton and Brad Pitt. Norton plays the main character and narrator, who goes unnamed in the movie. Pitt plays Norton’s second personality, Tyler Durden. The movie follow’s Norton’s character, who has insomnia, as he works his white collar job and starts a fight club.
Throughout the whole movie, Norton talks with Tyler like they are friends without realizing that he is the same person. Tyler is Norton’s personality during his periods of insomnia, and while he is out and about he plots to blow up multiple banks using soap. In the end Norton has to kill Tyler by shooting himself in the head.
A classmate and close friend of mine, Jackson Ruth, shares the same love for this movie that I do. The first thing I had to ask him was what part of the movie confused him the most, since this movie has lots of twists and turns. “I really just wanted to know who blew up his apartment” Ruth told me, “I was actually surprised when Tyler said that he did it.”
He talked about how he thought Marla was the one who really did it, and he was even more shocked to find out that Norton’s character really blew up his own apartment. “First off, I never thought it would have been Tyler. Then I found out Tyler and Norton were the same guy and my jaw literally dropped.”

I also wanted to know his favorite character. He told me that there was something charismatic about Tyler Durden that made him so likeable. Ruth even copied the hairstyle that Durden gets in the movie, “I mean look at my haircut. You think I did this just because? No I saw Tyler Durden buzz his hair and I was like, yea I need to do that.”
I had the pleasure of speaking to Johnny Walter, a fanatic about the movie, as well. He gave the movie a ten out of ten, “[Fight Club] has to be one of the best I’ve ever seen.” I asked him what made it so amazing to him, “I felt like I was on my toes. I never knew what was coming next and I was trying to figure it out the whole time.”
Walter told me the one thing that had him stumped the whole time was the name of Norton’s character. He said, “I should’ve known way sooner. It took me all the way up to that one scene when Ed [Norton] flies all over the country trying to find Tyler.”
He also mentioned how much he enjoyed the ending of the movie. He was very intrigued by the sort of neutral ending, “It wasn’t really a good or bad ending because the bombs still go off, and we don’t know if Ed dies or not. I don’t know why but I kinda like that unsatisfying ending.”
As well as answering many of our queries, Fight club leaves unanswered questions throughout the film. A confusing movie like this isn’t for just anyone to sit down and watch, but it has to be worth it in the end. I think this movie will continue to be popular among teens because I keep breaking rule number one, along with everyone else. Everyone’s talking about fight club.
