Its crunch time! Teams are running low on chances for big wins, and the bubble is shrinking. With conference tournaments around the bend we will see if the teams can buy themselves a bid.

LOCKS: North Carolina, Florida State, Virginia, Louisville, Notre Dame, Duke, Miami

SHOULD BE IN: Virginia Tech, Syracuse

The ‘Cuse is ever so close to the lock line now! The huge last second win over Duke puts the Orange in a great spot.

Buzz Williams has his team also close to being a lock. The Hokies are playing good ball right now and look to continue it into the postseason.

WORK LEFT TO DO: Georgia Tech, Wake Forest

Georgia Tech is still in good shape, a big win over Syracuse helped. The Yellow Jackets could become a lock with a few wins over Notre Dame, Syracuse and Pitt in the coming weeks.

Wake is in trouble. Sitting 7-9 in conference play is rough, but they still have games against Louisville and Virginia Tech. If they can pull off the upsets then they are dancing.

LOCKS: Kansas, Baylor, West Virginia, Iowa State

SHOULD BE IN: Oklahoma State

OK State is in good shape at the moment. The Cowboys are in the middle of a very tough conference and has some great wins.

WORK LEFT TO DO: Texas Tech, TCU, Kansas State

I don’t like sub .500% conference teams. However, these teams who fit that description have strong cases for their tournament resume. Don’t be surprised when all three are dancing.

LOCKS: Villanova, Butler, Creighton, Xavier

WORK LEFT TO DO: Marquette, Seton Hall, Providence

This is a very interesting conference race for fourth through seventh. Marquette, Seton Hall both have the edge at the moment to go dancing, however a late surge from Providence has put the this team right into the bubble race.

LOCKS: Maryland, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Purdue, Minnesota

WORK LEFT TO DO: Michigan State, Michigan, Indiana

Yes, Indiana is still here. Michigan and Sparty will likely be dancing, however the Hoosiers are in a total meltdown. They are holding on to a glimmer of hope for March. The two things keeping them on this page are Kansas and North Carolina. Without those two huge wins, the Hoosiers would be long gone. They need wins and fast!

LOCKS: Arizona, Oregon, UCLA, USC

SHOULD BE IN: California

Don’t believe everything you read! The Bears are in great shape and are ever so close to being a lock. They have opportunities ahead to solidify their spot if they pick up wins against the lower part of the conference. However, losses could mean doom.

LOCKS: Kentucky, Florida, South Carolina, Arkansas

LOCKS: Cincinnati, Gonzaga, Saint Mary’s, SMU

SHOULD BE IN: Middle Tennessee

If they can finish the year without a blemish and win their conference regular season title, they will be a lock for the tournament.

WORK LEFT TO DO: VCU, Dayton, Rhode Island, Nevada, Wichita State

The Mid-Majors are taking it rough with the bubble this year. While Dayton, VCU and Wichita State are no longer mid-majors these teams are also too close to make them locks. I believe they will be in safely it is just to close to tell.
