Elder Soccer clinches silver medal in the GCL South
The Elder Soccer team Clinched 2nd Place in the GCL South with a win over LaSalle Tuesday Night at the PAC. “We are clicking at the right time,” said keeper Kyle Dressman who recorded a shutout last night.
The Elder Soccer team has been through a lot this year, being injury plagued for most of the season and playing an always tough GCL South and non conference schedule. “Our defense did a really great job….. (LaSalle) didn’t have many shots.” Dressman credits the defense for the win. Getting second place “didn’t seem likely at the beginning” with all the struggle, but the Panthers did it.
Jacob Stiens credits the throw from Fox for the goal he scored early in the game against LaSalle. “That’s a goal we need to be scoring, we’ve been practicing that goal for weeks now, and it’s great to see it finally work.”
Next up for the Panthers is the Tournament. The Panthers will await the winner of Lakota East (9) and Northwest (26). The winner will face Elder on 10-22 at 7pm.
