In today’s day and age podcasting has become a large phenomenon. If I am driving in my car, chances are, I’m listening to a pod.
“The Reel Discussion” podcast kicked off last fall in Journalism class with the movie discussion of “The Shining”, the following week I got asked to be on the next episode about Saving Private Ryan. The podcast was created by three prominent members of Elder nation; Greg Dickman (teacher), Spencer Kandra (teacher), and Michael Lindle (student).
Michael was inspired to watch movies by Mr. Dickman’s “Catholic Themes in Media” class he took last fall. Ever since then Michael has been a movie buff. Mr. Kandra started liking films back in high school and on the weekends he would go to Newport where he and a few buddies would watch movies all day.
Mr. Dickman dives deep into his love for movies and where he picked up his first watches of classic movies he loves today. This love for movies and discussing them has spread contagiously through the school of Elder. Later this year, they have decided to reintroduce the Panthers Movie Club.
