It is the weekend, and your family does not want to make dinner. So, they came up with the idea, let’s get pizza. There are so many choices, and you are wondering, what is the best west side pizza? I collected some opinions about the favorite west side pizza.
Favorite West Side Pizza
There are many good choices for the West Side and its pizza options. I asked Mr. Schmidt his favorite West Side pizza, and he said his favorite was Trotta’s. Trotta’s is a drive-in pizza place located right outside of the Western Hills Plaza. They are known for their pizzas being massive.
They are a family-owned business known for their sausage, which has a little spice to it. He followed his favorite West Side pizza, with his favorite East Side pizza, Mio’s. There are multiple Mio’s locations, as it is not just exclusive to the East Side. He recommended getting the sesame seed crust.
I have tried Mio’s before down in Clifton, and I recommend the BBQ Chicken pizza; you cannot go wrong with any choice from this spot. My personal favorite is Jett’s Pizza. It is located next to Kroger on Harrison Avenue. It has some of the best ranch I have ever had, and combined with their deep-dish style pizza, it reminds me of Bill Russell and Bob Cousy.
Go to Pizza on a Weeknight
You get home from school late, and your mom is busy, so that can only mean one thing: you are ordering food. You want pizza, and sometimes your family has that option for pizza on a weeknight. Mr. Schmidt’s is Marcos. I am lucky enough to have one right up the street from me. They have some of the best cheesy bread; it is a must-get whenever you are ordering from Marcos. The pizza also tends to be very greasy and has a garlic taste to the crust. Their Jalapeno ranch is the perfect kick of spice to the ranch.
Favorite Type of Pizza
It is hard to go wrong with any type of pizza. Almost every type of pizza is enjoyable except for one, Hawaiian pizza. The sweetness of the pineapple does not contrast well with the rest of the pizza. Fruit does not belong on pizza. I asked Mr. Schmidt, and he responded with a classic option: pepperoni or sausage with extra mushrooms. The saltiness of the mushrooms goes well with the spice of pepperoni or sausage. I have had the same go-to option my whole life, bacon. I will stand by that it is the greatest pizza topping ever.
If you have not tried one of the places mentioned, it is a must-try. Pizza for dinner is one of the best feelings, and if you live on the West side of Cincinnati, you now know the best spots to have a pizza.
