Recently the Cincinnati Business Courier published their annual book of lists with rankings of various categories. One such categories was the Top 25 Sports Programs of Cincinnati as polled by their readers. At the top of the list coming in first is the Cincinnati Reds, followed by the Bengals, the University of Cincinnati, The Cyclones, and Xavier University. However, coming in at number six is our own Panthers of Elder High. The high rank comes as no surprise as Elder has numerous state and division titles over a respectable time period. The news was revealed to our own JP Owens, Mr. Bill, and Robert Cappanarri at a networking event at Music Hall downtown. There with many other schools and organizations, they enjoyed the night meeting with representatives from high schools and sports programs from all over Cincinnati. Receiving the placement of number six puts the Panthers ahead of any other high school, with St. Xavier falling at number seven and the Crusaders of Moeller occupying the ninth spot. If you are anything like me then you are probably wondering why the Cyclones are ahead of us, but it’s, whatever, I ain’t even mad. With such a high ranking on a prestigious list, the Panthers can hold their heads high, a true testament to our record of hard work and dedication. With an admirable track record to live up to the future of Elder sports has their work cut out for them, but I foresee no end to the Panther tradition of excellence.
