Ever since Netflix has begun to produce their own TV series and movies they have been killing the game. There first hit was House of Cards. Then they produced favorites for people like Orange is the New Black and Narcos. These are all great series and perfect for binge watching.

If you haven’t already heard about the new Netflix Original Series Stranger Things then you are missing out, and if you are planning to watch this series you better put eight hours aside and devote them to this new hit. Stranger Things is a chilling sci-fi/horror/thriller that came out in July 2016 and since then has blown up.

Stranger Things was created by two twin brothers, Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer. This show is very much 80’s based and if you are like me then you think the 80’s are dope. You can never go wrong with watching an 80’s flick. Many people relate this series to “E.T.”, “Poltergeist”, “Carrie”, “Stand by Me” and “The Goonies”. If all of these movies were directed by Spielberg or King and put together into one, I think Stranger Things would be the outcome.

Personally I binge watched all eight episodes on the last day of summer. Some people may ask, wouldn’t you rather do something else on the last day of summer? and I say absolutely not. This series has something about it where you can’t stop watching, you have to see what’s going to happen next.

When I got into school for the first day I was talking to my homie Josh Powell ’17 and he told me he also watched the whole series in one sitting. “10/10 Would recommend and it is the best show on Netflix,” Josh said.

Cameron Hoinkie is new to the series and says, “I have better things to do with my life like work at Home City Ice and golf on the varsity B team than watch a series in one night. Great show so far though”

There is word that Netflix is planning to drop the second season sometime in 2017.
