Many of you may not know this, but I have a younger brother that is a freshman. His name is Wesley Melillo. Wesley plays football and is on the wrestling team. I would say he is a fairly active student at this school. Wesley is a very unique person though, he does odd things and resembles a rat/snail like creature. I am here to interview some people and see what they think about Wesley.

Maxwell Deters
Maxwell Deters and Wesley at a basketball game during the 2019 season.

The first person I interviewed was his lifelong friend Zane Klusman ’22. I asked Zane what he thought about Wesley and he said, “He is probably one of my best friends, but he does some pretty dumb things.” I was shocked when I heard this because through my years of experience with these to I came to the conclusion that they are basically the same exact person.

The next person I interviewed was Tom Feldman ’19. Tom said, “He always has no clue about what is going on. You cannot even hold a conversation with him for more than two minutes because he will start dozing off.” I would have to agree with this statement from Tom. Tom also went onto say that he is a very fun person to be around because he is always doing something stupid.

Dave Brown  ‘19 is a Wesley enthusiast. Dave came up with a nickname for him- Sheck Wes (singer of Mo Bamba) and Sheckly. Dave has not known Wesley as long as the first two students I interviewed but the short period of time he has known him he has realized he is a very unique kid.

Dave said, “The first time I met Sheckly was when I was sleeping over at your house over the summer. “Wesley had two girls on your basement couch and made me get up and leave.” I was shocked because I was asleep in my bedroom and I have never heard this story. Dave went onto say how this first impression of Wesley made him hate Wesley until his second encounter.

A couple weeks later I had Dave over again and Wesley and Dave started talking. Dave said his views on sports made his like Wesley after the first impression did not go too good. Dave also said how he resembles a snail because he has such a distinctive walk and head shape.

I also got the opportunity to interview Wesley. I was lying in bed and I asked him what he wanted to do with his next three years at Elder High School and he said, “I would like to play football and hopefully start. I also want to make honors every quarter.” I hope my little brother will do some big things at Elder High School.

(But he probably won’t)
