Halloween is one of the most fantastic holidays of the year, and not just because of all the decorations and costumes, but the candy. This year, I asked several Elder students what their favorite Halloween candy was. After comparing all of their answers, I made one list of the top 10 candies Elder High School students love the most.

At number one, the students favorite candy is Reese’s Cups. It’s a combination of chocolate and peanut butter, and the students seem to love it. Coming in at number two are Kit Kats. Kit kats are crunchy wafers covered in smooth thin chocolate. Getting away from all the chocolate, Skittles take the number three spot. Skittles have a variety of fruity flavors, which all come in different colors.

Once again back to chocolate, in fourth place is the Hershey bar. Hershey bars contain a delicious flavor of chocolate. Twix takes fifth place with the perfect mix of caramel and chocolate. Taking sixth place will be the Crunch bar. It’s a crispy crunch of chocolate which makes it so enjoyable.

Next up, Swedish Fish slide their way to number seven with their chewy, sweet flavor. Peanut M&Ms fall into eighth, mixing chocolate with a peanut inside. Taking over ninth place are the Gummy Bears. Finally, Snickers finishes off the list at number ten containing a great mix of peanuts, caramel, and chocolate.

Compared to Google’s top 10 Halloween candy of 2025 the Elder students have about half of that list, but not in the same order. Hershey bar, Crunch bar, Swedish Fish, and Peanut M&Ms did not make Google’s top 10 candy of this year’s Halloween. Another big difference is Google’s number two is the Elder students number ten.

However Kit Kats, Skittles, Twix, Gummy Bears, and Reese Cups were on both the students’ and Google’s lists. Reese Peanut Butter Cups seem to be not only Elders number one candy, but the worlds.

Whether you like chocolate, chewy, or sour treats, this list has it all. So next Halloween make sure to go out and get the best candy of 2025!
