The UFC is planning something that has never been done before in the history of sports, a fight card on the grounds of the White House. President Donald Trump announced that the UFC will officially hold this event on June 14, 2026, which is also his 80th birthday. The fights are being organized as part of a celebration for the United States’ 250th anniversary.

President Trump has attended UFC events in the past and is considered a friend of UFC CEO, Dana White. Their relationship helped form the idea of a White House fight card. Trump has been closely involved with the planning and has talked about the event many times. 

This event is expected to take place on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, D.C., with fighters possibly walking out of the Oval Office and into the Octagon. UFC CEO Dana White has been working with the White House on the logistics, and their plan is to make this card one of the biggest and most exciting of all time.  

Due to security and space limits, Dana White says only about 5,000 people will be able to watch the fights in person on the lawn. The UFC plans to set up giant screens and a viewing party in a nearby park called The Ellipse, where up to 85,000 fans can watch and enjoy music, food, and entertainment during the event. 

No official fight card has been confirmed yet, but match making is expected to start and be released in February. Dana White has said he’s working on the matchups and wants “the biggest and the best” fights. Fans and commentators have discussed potential fights, like a super fight between Jon Jones and Alex Pereira, but nothing is locked in. White has also dismissed some rumors, like Conor McGregor vs. Jorge Masvidal, calling them “goofy.” 

Dana White is excited and insists the event will be successful, calling it “history-making” and saying most UFC fighters want to be part of it. But not everyone is totally sold. Longtime UFC commentator Joe Rogan has expressed concerns on his podcast about the event’s security, weather, and practicality, and he’s even joked that some of Trump’s ideas are “nuts.” He also said it would be a “travesty” if big stars like Jon Jones aren’t included.

Some fans are very excited for the event because it’s historic and huge. Others are very skeptical and think that it’s too chaotic and unachievable. I think this fight card is looking to be one of the wildest events in UFC history and will shock the country.
