With my third year at Elder High School coming to end there is something I noticed in just about every class this year. There is always somebody eating something in class.

There is always the classic person who has a bag of chips behind his computer, the person who  will causally try to sneak bites of his candy bar in, or the obnoxious Starburst person trying to figure out what he should do with a million wrappers.

Now what I’ve wondered is what is the most well liked item from the vending machine at Elder. Well it is not easy to get an exact answer to that question. There are so many items in the vending machine from Hot Fries and Cheez-It’s, to Honey Buns and Snickers. So I decided to pay attention to who eats the most in class and see what their favorite items are.

The person I have noticed eating all the time in just about every class is Timmy Hamberg. If he’s not eating something that was in his lunch you can usually find him with a Twix, or you will see a million Starburst wrappers on his desk. Timmy told me that Starburst are for sure his favorite, but can’t stand the mess.

Every day in homeroom I notice Max Dresmann asleep with a bag of Cheez-It’s in his hand and a bag in his backpack. Max has a bag of Cheez-It’s in the morning and has a bag before seventh period. Max said, “They are a great way to start and end your day.” You know what, I don’t think I could agree much more with you Max.

Remembering great memories from my days of freshman football, I think it’s safe to say that the most  popular freshman item is a Big Texas. Junior Michael Townsley told me that a Big Texas is his favorite item from the vending machine to this day.

If I had to pick a favorite item in the vending machine I think I would have to go with a Snickers bar. Personally it is my favorite candy and when I see it in there it is really hard to say no. If your favorite item was not mentioned please vote in the poll on our home page.
