“The Concert is coming! The Concert is coming!”

The Concert is coming! The Concert is coming!

How many people, faculty and student body of the Elder community are busy this weekend? If you’re free, there’s an awesome opportunity to see the Elder/Seton Christmas concert Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon, December 12 and 13.

At this event, you will hear an array of songs performed by Elder’s Glee Club, Freshman Chorus, Beginning Band, and yes the one and only Symphonic Band. There will also be an appearance by Seton’s Choir. woodwinds

I talked to some of the Elder Band seniors about the event. Senior band members I talked to were Adam Helmers, Johnathon Walters, Cameron Olding, Thomas Brogan, and Colton Ernst.  Every single one of them told me how this year’s Christmas Concert was going to be a hit. A favorite by Colten Ernst and Cameron Olding is “Christmas Suite,” which encompasses a collage of Christmas classics all into one song. Another favorite was “Do You Hear What I Hear,” this song was picked by Thomas Brogan and Johnathon Walters. Other popular songs that will be played are “Let the Holidays Begin” (Adam Helmers’ favorite) and “Bell Carol Rock”.

If you’re going only to hear Mr. Geis’s quality cheesy holiday jokes, you better get to Seton’s Auditorium early because Elder’s Symphonic Band is the opening act starting on Saturday at 7 P.M. and on Sunday at 3 P.M.brass

With all the performances going on Saturday and Sunday, the Elder/ Seton Christmas concert will be an overall hit. With all levels preforming and a variety of classic songs being sung, everyone is bound to have an enjoyable time that will put all in the “Christmas Spirit.”  So don’t be a Scrooge, come on out and see the Elder/Seton Christmas concert.
