Jerry Seinfeld’s happy birthday

Jerry Seinfelds happy birthday

Jerry Seinfeld, star of the TV show, Seinfeld turned 61 in April. For his 61st birthday Jerry decided to sell the re-runs to Seinfeld for about 180 million dollars. If that isn’t a happy birthday then I’m not really sure what is.

Jerry Seinfeld took the stage at Hulu’s annual presentation before potential advertisers to promote the company’s deal to exclusively stream all 180 episodes of the 1990s sitcom juggernaut. Snagging the deal is a major coup for Hulu, and came with a hefty price tag estimated at $700,000 to $1 million an episode.

For Hulu this could be something very big. With rival companies dominating them such as Netflix and Amazon, this could be a possible breakthrough.

“If you take away one thing, it’s that 2015 is the year Hulu will break out,” Chief Executive Mike Hopkins told the audience of advertisers. This deal that Hulu has made with the show Seinfeld is the biggest since Hulu came out in 2007. If you would like to check out Hulu and the shows it provides you can click here.

The real question is why is why is this show still great to this day being really just a show about nothing. I think a good reason why this show is looked at so great is because the show ended when it was at the top. Usually when television shows stop it is because the ratings are low, and just for the simple fact that it is just not as good anymore.

If you are not sold on this show and its popularity you can really ask anybody if they have seen an episode of Seinfeld, and I can pretty much guarantee you that it is a yes. I mean let’s face it Elder had a Seinfeld film festival for Elder fest held in Mr. Flaherty’s room. Mr. Flaherty also has a Seinfeld quiz you can take, which as a huge Seinfeld fan I though it would be easy, but I was sadly mistaken.

Overall, I don’t think Seinfeld will ever really go away. I think this show has continuously been pretty popular over the past few years, and I think the deal they made with Hulu will just help the show out. It is amazing that a show is able to make so much money after ending so long ago.
