All day breakfast already disappointing

It’s finally here, the moment McDonald’s breakfast lovers have been waiting for their whole lives. McDonald’s will be serving breakfast all day beginning on October 6th.

Well, sadly this is not exactly true. When McDonald’s broke the news of serving breakfast all day they left out some pretty major details.

McDonald’s recently released a statement on their website that said, “Depending on the local market, All Day Breakfast will have a limited menu that focuses on either McMuffin or Biscuit items.” This means that based on the location of the McDonald’s and the customer preference in that area the menu will only have a McMuffin or a biscuit item that will be able to be purchased all day long.

It is an understatement to say how disappointed I was upon hearing this recent news. When I first heard the news of breakfast all day I was fully prepared to be putting on some weight from eating so much. So in some ways I guess you could say it’s not the worst thing in the world that they won’t be serving their full menu.

Many fans of McDonald’s breakfast seem to be pretty upset over the news of limited options in all day breakfast. For Adam Martini, McDonald’s breakfast has always seemed to be a pretty big part of his life. “When I found out the all-day breakfast menu for McDonald’s was limited I just felt like I was betrayed and lied to,” said Martini.

One of the workers at the McDonald’s in Cleves, Dylan Herren told me it shouldn’t really make any difference in his job there.

A big question surrounding the breakfast topic at McDonald’s is money. McDonald’s has made it clear that they have seen economic opportunity in doing breakfast all day. It was projected that the transition to the all-day breakfast could increase annual profits by $31,000 for a typical restaurant location.

Overall, I feel like McDonald’s just teased everyone by announcing this. So it looks like you’re going to have to wait a little longer for the satisfaction of eating a McGriddle for dinner. Even though it is a step forward in McDonald’s breakfast, it feels like we are also taking some steps back.
